Description

This class is meant to be an introduction to clay through both hand building projects and time on the pottery wheel. These classes are limited to 6 students and are taught by a PA certified art teacher. Classes are not only meant to produce pieces of artwork to take home, but build skills and confidence in the arts through working with clay.
Students can expect to complete 4-6 pieces by the end of the class, which will include both functional and sculptural work. The class is split between two weeks in order to fire the pieces created in the first week, and give students an authentic experience working with both unfired and fired clay. Pieces created in the second week will be fired and can be picked up at a later date.

Cost is $110, and includes all materials and firings for finished pieces.

Cristina Virmani

My name is Cristina Virmani and I am a teaching artist! I have always loved working with clay and enjoy sharing that passion with others. Over the years I have taught art to many young artists and enjoy creating along with them. Working with young artists not only help inspire my own artwork but it also helps me see the world through the eyes of children. I am currently teaching art at J.E. Fritz elementary in Conestoga Valley School district as well as other art focused programs.
